The Business Innovation and Investment Program is designed to increase entrepreneurial talent and diversify business expertise in Australia. It is positioned to target migrants that have a demonstrated history of success in innovation, investment and business and are able to make a significant contribution to the national innovation system and to the Australian economy.

Australia Permanent Residence

Significant Business History Stream (subclass 132)

  • Be under 55 years old

  • Business and personal assets of at least AUD 1,500,000

  • Main business should have an annual turnover of at least AUD 3,000,000)

Venture Capital Entrepreneur Stream (subclass 132)Receive venture capital funding of AUD 1,000,000 for:

  • the early-phase start-up of a business in Australia; or

  • the commercialization of a product in Australia; or

  • the development of a business in Australia; or

  • the expansion of a business in Australia

Business Innovation Stream (subclass 188A)

  • Be under 55 years old

  • Net personal or business assets of at least AUD800,000 available for transfer to Australia

  • Business turnover of at least AUD500,000 for two out of the last four years
